Elevator Pitch No.1

Being someone who has been diagnosed with anxiety, I can definitely attest to the fact that there is a surprising lack of services out there dedicated to helping people remedy their panic attacks. Anxiety can leave you feeling isolated and depressed a lot of the time, and I think there is a profound lack of understanding of this illness in our society. With my anxiety-relieving app, MyCalm, I am aiming to help people with anxiety manage their panic attacks and provide a support service to allow them to reach out to others and know that we are not alone.

  1. Hi Morgan!
This is a great idea and I see it has a lot of potential for people who suffer from anxiety attacks. I think anxiety is a massive problem in the world and has not been properly serviced to. I think the most impressive aspect of your blog post was your video and the way you were able to convey your ideas in an extremely professional manner. I am blown away by the concept and execution of the product and hope you continue to invent ways of helping people. Glad you're doing well!

  2. MyCalm, just tap the app! I love this idea, and the way you deliver the message is professional and, well, calm. You're dressed well, stick with that, but you may want to bobby pin your hair back so that you don't have to push it back with your hand. Very distracting and I don't want to be distracted from your pitch.

I liked that you threw a statistic out there at the start, that really drew me in, and I think while some of your audience will identify because they experience panic attacks, the use of statistics will help you pull in those who don't suffer from anxiety or even know what it is. You did a great job putting in a brief explanation, too.

Initially the looking aside at your notes wasn't noticeable, but you need to watch yourself because as time went on, you looked to the notes more often and it became an interruption.

Regardless, good job. As you'll see, you're much more composed than I (check out my pitch here: http://adventuresinent.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no1.html).

  3. Morgan,
I LOVE this idea. As a college student with anxiety and frequent anxiety attacks, I would definitely use this app. I really like how you started with a statistic in your elevator pitch. This really caught my attention and hooked me in from the start. Try not to read off of your notes or play with your hair. Other than that, great pitch! I really like your business venture.
